You may have seen that the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice has launched an emergency appeal to raise funds to help them through the next few weeks/months. Nationally, the organisation faces a £4m gap for every month we’re on lockdown.
This absolutely incredible place looked after mum just last month for her last few days. It was only a short time we were there but they were incredible, just as we knew they would be having experienced their care for our nan back in 2006. The fact that they are now faced with an emergency situation where they may have to close and not be able to continue to provide the exceptional care for people at the end of their lives is an absolute tragedy.
That’s why my dad, my sister, my cousin and I would all love you to join us for a charity quiz on Wednesday night. To join, it’s £2.50 per person (you can donate more if you want to) payable through just giving and we will be running an online quiz via Facebook Live on Wednesday 8th April, 7:30pm with our very own Danni as the quiz master.
There aren’t any prizes, but we hope you’ll join us anyway to try to do everything we can to support this amazing place in their time of need - just as they did for us, and as they do for many families every day.
Sue Ryder Nurses and healthcare teams are always there for local people who are dying. They are providing incredible emotional support as well as specialist medical care to people who are finding themselves in unimaginably difficult circumstances. We are all facing something we have never faced before which is why Sue Ryder has launched an appeal to make sure that they are still here. I am asking you to give whatever you can afford at this difficult time. Every pound you give could make the difference to whether they can be there or not. It is that simple.
